# Asset Discovery: Asset Discovery Filters

Asset discovery filters - Converted

[00:00] When using the Asset Discovery page, the left hand side will display the available filters that you may apply when doing a search. This filters listing is dynamic and will display different options based upon three factors. Your persona and the filters that are visible for that persona. Connection type selected, wherein certain connections have specific filters that can be applied, such as DBT allowing for specific DBT filters once it is applied as the connection type selected.

And finally, the asset type filter selected, wherein certain asset types may have additional filter options. Regardless of the asset type selected or connection, Six filters will always show at the top of the selection these are the Domains filter allowing you to filter your assets by the domain they're owned by.

The filter is multi-Select, so you can choose multiple domains to filter results. The certificates filter allowing you to filter results based upon the certificate status of the assets owners, allowing you to select a single or multiple [01:00] individuals or group owners to filter by with the results filtering if the asset has.

Any of the individuals or groups as owners that you selected the tags filter allows you to select one or many tags to filter on, returning assets that have any of the tags selected attached to the asset. Terms gives you the ability to select one or many terms to filter on, returning assets that have any of the terms selected linked to them.

Finally, the properties filter allows you to filter based upon specific metadata characteristics, including filtering based upon the exact name of the asset through the title values in the description, or even whether or not the asset has lineage outside of these core six filters. If you have the advanced popularity module, you have the ability to filter on the usage of your assets for applicable asset types. If you select a column asset type, you have the ability to then filter on column properties, and table or view properties may be filtered off of if the table or view asset type filter is selected. As stated before, some connections have [02:00] specific filters associated with them, such as Once selected, they appear with connection specific filters as options.

Finally, if your company has created custom metadata and allowed those new fields to be used as filters, these may also be listed in the filters listing at the bottom, allowing you to limit the results based upon values entered in the custom metadata fields on the assets.
