Each heading is the time (mm:ss) that part starts. ## 00:00 — Viewing columns and fields in the sidebar The asset companion sidebar allows you to see additional metadata around an asset through different tabs. While you first land on the overview tab, there's several different, additional options that can be viewed simply by clicking on their icon. For asset types that contain fields or columns such as tables or BI datasets, the columns icon shows. Clicking on the columns icon brings up the columns tab, sidebar displaying all of the columns or fields contained within the main asset. At the top, you can search for specific columns or fields by matching on the name or the description of that. You can also filter to only show columns of specific types, allowing you to quickly see all your Boolean fields or limit your search to only VAR car. The columns or fields are ordered by their position in the asset by default. However, you're able to update this order by clicking on the order icon to the right of the search bar. You were able to update the listing of columns or fields to sort alphabetically by search relevance, popularity, or last updated in Atlan. ## 01:00 — Usage stats and lineage in the sidebar If the asset has popularity in usage associated with it, the usage tab shows. Clicking on it brings additional details around the usage of the asset for database objects. This includes the top users who have queried the asset along with popular, slow and expensive queries run against the asset. Now if yes. Has lineage whether upstream, downstream or both the lineage tab will show. Clicking on it will be really show all assets, either one level upstream or downstream of the asset. Clicking on any of the assets will open their sidebar profile on the lineage tab. You can search for assets using the search bar matching on name only and filter the results based on asset type by using the asset type filters. You're able to update the results to only show the upstream assets if desired, by clicking on the upstream option or only downstream by clicking on the downstream option. If you're looking to change the number of levels upstream or downstream displayed. Clicking on the icon gives you this option. ## 02:00 — Lineage depth, activity, and resources tabs Allowing you to set the results to one, two or three, along with max depth, which will provide all assets connected through lineage. The activity tab allows you to see the activity of the asset Atlan showing you changes that have been made on the metadata of the asset, such as updated descriptions and tags. Also it shows when they were done in by whom. Depending on the asset type, there are additional activities that you may see such as four tables when a column was added or removed. The resources tab displays, any resources that have been added to the asset resources are external links to additional documentation or artifacts that someone has added in consist in giving additional context or information around the asset. If your company is utilizing insights in Atlanta in actually saving queries. ## 03:00 — Query, request, and properties tabs The query tab will automatically populate with any safe queries that select from the asset, providing an amazing way to quickly find ways to analyze the assets data. The request tab will display all requests made on the asset. By default, it shows the pending status request, but you can actually change this by clicking on the status dropdown to show approved, rejected, or all statuses of requests. The properties tab displays with key aspects around the asset, such as the unique ID also known as the GRI ID, which is the unique identifier of the asset and utilized when using the API APIs, along with the qualified name. You were also able to see the last updated date in Atlan and by whom it was done the last time it was synced with the source. And when the asset was originally created in Atlan. If you have slack teams or JIRA integrated with your instance, they will show us options on the sidebar where you can view link tickets or conversations, or create new tickets through the JIRA integration or add existing conversations for slack or teams for future reference. ## 04:00 — Integrations, related assets, and custom metadata For some asset types like BI assets, the option of you related assets is available. This shows different assets that are related to the one you're on. Such as on a power BI dashboard, the tiles that are contained on the dashboard will show here. These are assets that may or may not be visible in lineage and allow you to understand the relationships the asset has with other assets better. Finally if custom metadata has been created, the different custom metadata fields show on the asset side bar is different tabs. Clicking hunting you've useful show any of the values. If they are populated, if not, they will not show any values.
