# Data Products & Domains: Create a Data Product

Ready to revolutionize data products? Experience hands-on how to create them with lineage or the product module in this interactive demo!

## What the demo walks through

1. You can either create a data product from the lineage graph of an asset... ... or begin by navigating to the products homepage
2. You can either search for a domain or subdomain to add a product from the navigation menu... ...or discover, search for, or view all your domains here
3. In this example, we'll select our domain from the navigation menu
4. (Optional) Collapse the sidebar
5. In this example, we'll add the new data product to a subdomain, but you can also add it directly to a data domain
6. Open the add menu
7. Add a data product
8. (Optional) Change the cover image Enter a meaningful name for your data product
9. The domain or subdomain will be preselected. (Optional) If you have access to create data products in a different domain, you can select it from the list
10. (Optional) Enter a description Select a level of business criticality for your data product Assign a data sensitivity level to your data product
11. (Optional) Add additional users and groups as product owners
12. Continue to the next step
13. Select individual assets via asset browser...
14. (Optional) Use filters to select a group of assets
15. ...or select the attribute, operator, and value for your filter(s) for asset selection. In this example, we'll select assets using filters
16. Continue to the next step (Optional) View your selected assets in the sidebar
17. (Optional) Select output port(s) to allow your data consumers to consume the data product across domains Input port assets are designated as output ports in other data products, and serve as input ports for your data product. These will be automatically selected based on your output port selections
18. Continue to the next step
19. You can either save your data product as a draft... ...or publish it for your data consumers
20. In this example, we've reviewed the product and will publish it
21. View essential details about the data product
22. (Optional) Update the status of your data product
23. (Optional) View recently visited users, star your data product, post on Slack or Teams, and more from here View the product scorecard
24. Enrich metadata for your data product — for example, link a glossary term, attach a tag, certify the product, and more View output ports for your data product
25. (Optional) Add a README
26. (Optional) Add resources Link relevant Slack or Teams threads or add Jira issues to your data product
27. View or edit linked assets
28. View product lineage
29. (Optional) Hover over the product to view relevant metadata in the popover
30. View details about changes made to the data product

32. (Optional) Expand the properties menu and filter for assets with lineage
33. Select an asset with lineage, and then click the lineage icon to navigate to the graphical view
34. Select the asset you want to start from
35. Any assets visible on the lineage graph will be automatically included in the data product. You can keep the selections or deselect any assets
36. The asset you had selected on the lineage graph will be automatically set as an output port. You can either keep the selection or remove it
37. (Optional) You can also mark other assets as output ports
38. Enter details for your data product
39. Proceed to reviewing your data product
40. Review and publish your data product
