# Data Products & Domains: A Product Introduction

Product introduction - Data products

[00:00] Welcome to this video introduction to the data products module in Atlan. Whether you were data producer looking to create new data products for your consumers or a data consumer wanting to browse through different domains. To find the right data product for your need. The data product module has you covered?

To access data products, simply clicking on the products icon on the left-hand side of the navigation will take you to the data products home page. Here you get the full Atlan data products experience. On the left-hand side, you can traverse through your data domains and data products using the hierarchy tree, expanding out domains and sub domains to quickly discover all of the different data products. At the top of the page is the domain listing. Where you can discover all of the different domains your company has. Clicking on one of the domains will take you to the domain overview page here. Everything about that domain is at your fingertips. The summary section can provide you with an understanding of the domain. Along with the total number of products in the domain, in any additional resources for that domain. [01:00] Below that a read me can be added to give a ton of extra information regarding their domain, making sure that data, consumers and data producers know everything they could. Domain's can have sub domains and even sub domains can have sub domains in these sub domains can be seen right on the right hand side of the domain overview page. Even allowing you to expand out, to see the full picture.

The products tab allows you to see all of the different products of the domain, whether directly in the domain or in a sub domain of the domain. And if you're looking for analytics regarding who's using the domain, the different products in the domain and how active the domain is in publishing new data products. The reports tab, has you covered giving you all this information ? With domains covered.

Let's get to the star of this video data products. Back in the products module home page, you can find your data products either by using the hierarchy navigation on the left hand side or using the explore products section where you can not only see a listing of all the different data products. But can also search for specific [02:00] products.

You may be looking for. Clicking on the product takes you to the data product overview page. Giving you all of the details you need around a data product to use it.

The summary section contains not only description for the data product, but also can contain the criticality and sensitivity of the product. You can even has a freshness field that shows the last time updates were made to the data product. Blow this, you can see the total number of assets contained in the product, along with the output ports. Output ports are specific assets that have been identified in marked by an owner, has the assets that should be utilized to consume the data from the data product. It allows you to immediately see which assets you should access to get what you need from the data product. Blow this as the read me section where additional information about the data product can be added.

And on the right hand side, you can not only see an ad terms, tags, owners, and certificates to the data product, but you can also set the visibility of it, allowing you to keep it limited to only those who have access to the [03:00] domain or setting it to public so that anyone in Atlan can see that product.

Above this there's the automated product score, which Ackland actually calculates based upon the enrichment and other key aspects surrounding the data product in assets within the product. Clicking on the assets tab will take you to the assets page, showing all the different assets that actually make up the data product.

From here, you can also edit to add or remove different assets using filters. If you're looking to understand updates for the product, the activity tab shows you all of this information, such as updates to the metadata on the product. Along with even giving you insights into who created updated it is viewed your data product. Finally product lineage can be viewed by clicking on the lineage tab. Here. You can see the lineage from your different products, allowing you to understand how your data products may be feeding one another.
