## Creating Data Quality Rules in Mass Through Atlan AI Suggestions

Getting started with data quality can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re not sure which rules to set up first. That’s where Atlan’s Data Quality studio and Atlan AI come in. With just a click, you can generate bulk rule suggestions tailored to your data, helping you jumpstart your data quality journey without digging through every column or writing a single line of SQL. Let’s take a look

Clicking on the asset icon on the left hand navigation takes us to the asset discovery page. Here, we were just told about a databricks table that we should be utilizing for information on our internal team called people. Clicking on the source drop down, we select our databricks connection and then search for people. Our our table shows and we click on it. As we review the table information, we see that this is the table we need to utilize to do some analytics on our employees. But what about the quality of the data. We click on Data Quality and see that there are no current data quality rules for the table, so we don’t know how much we can trust the data, but we also don’t know where to start with adding data quality rules to build that trust. This is where Atlan AI for Data Quality Studio jumpstarts this. Clicking on rule suggestions, Atlan AI utilizes the metadata context around the asset, and in just a few moments, we are presented with a listing of several different suggested rules to apply to our table. 
In the table we can see the column associated with the rule, the type of rule, and then the configurations. We are able to review the different rule suggestions and edit the configurations to apply what will mean that the rule is passing. We can enter in different values for aspects like duplicate count, putting in 0 to ensure that our person_id, which must be unique, is, along with being able to edit the evaluation for if we had values that must be greater or equal to. The configuration even allows us to set the notification priority on the right for each of the rules individually. We select the full name and person_id columns for rules creation by clicking on the checkmarks to the right. We simply click on create rules, and our rules are now created.

We are returned back to the data quality screen with our rules now showing, and are able to add more rules manually if desired, or even use Atlan AI to create new suggestions by clicking on the Atlan AI icon.
