Atlan’s Data Quality Studio makes it easy to see not just when things go wrong, but also when everything is working as expected. Whether you’re in the companion sidebar, the overview page, the data quality tab, at the column level, or even in lineage, the status of your data quality checks is always right where you need it. Clicking on the asset icon on the left hand side of the navigation takes us to the asset discovery page. Here, we will look at how the results are displayed for a table with failures. We know that the Master Credit Card Invoices table has failures, so we simply add a filter for the Snowflake data quality rule status of fail and enter master credit in the search, bringing our result of Master Credit card invoices. Immediately, in the results tile, we see, on the top right, that there are currently failed rules on this table. Hovering over the results displays the total number of failed and succeeded rules, the last time the rules were run, and a list of failed rules that can be clicked on to view. Clicking on the asset tile opens the asset sidebar, where we again see information around our data quality rules, showing the number of passes and fails. To get into the details, we simply click on the listing. We are taken to the data quality overview page. Here, for any table or view with data quality rules from Atlan’s Data Quality Studio, you will see all the information around the rules, their run, and their impact. At the top, we see totals not only of the overall pass/fail of the rules, but also broken down by their dimensions. Hovering over any of these shows each type of rule and their status, and clicking on any of the values updates the listing below with the filters for that dimension or specific rule. At the top, we see when the data quality checks were last run, what the schedule is, and if there is currently alerting on these sets of rules when they fail. Below, we have the ability to filter to see only our passed, failed or inactive rules, along with filtering by dimension, rule, and also specific columns. Scrolling down, we have the individual rule results. Hovering over any of these brings a history of the rule run, showing the run value results over time. To the right, we see where the rule is evaluating, whether that be at the column level or a table level custom SQL. Finally, on the right we have the last run value, giving us the actual results of the run, which by hovering over will also give a popup of the history, the same as the rule name. We can also expand to view more details, along with for pre-built rules get the failed row SQL for us to run to get the row level results from our source. On the right hand side, we also see the downstream impact, showing us the number of columns that are currently failing, which when expanded shows those columns, and clicking on any brings an impact report, along with the number of assets downstream that the table is feeding, which when clicked also brings up the impact report. Below this, if data products are turned on in your Atlan instance, a listing of all products where the table is included show. Clicking on one takes us to the product overview page, and we can even see the data quality failures within the product by clicking on the asset tab. Here, we see our table listed and the indication of the failed rules, right there. Going back to the table itself and clicking on the columns tab, we can also see data quality statuses in the Data Quality column, Giving us an overview of how many rules passed and failed for the column, and hovering over this value provides us with a listing of the different rules for the column and their statuses. Finally, data quality is present in lineage, and by clicking on the lineage tab for the table we are taken to the Lineage UI. Here, we immediately see the number of rule failures currently on the table, and if we expand the columns, we even see a visual indication of the rule statuses for each of the columns, which we again can hover over to get a listing of the different rules and their statuses. With Atlan’s Data Quality Studio, the status of your tables and columns isn’t tucked away—it’s visible wherever you are. That kind of transparency helps your team stay informed and makes it easier to build and maintain trust in your data over time.
