# Data Products & Domains: Discovering Domains and Data Products

## 00:00 — Browsing domains and data products through the hierarchy

Domain some data products currently reside in the products tab of Atlan and are not discoverable through asset discovery or quick search. This allows end users to quickly choose the type of data discovery they are doing. Either by looking for more technical assets through data discovery or quick search, or for specific data products to use through the products tab. Once in the products tab, there are a few different ways to discover both domains and data products. The first is through hierarchy. On the left hand side of the page, the domain hierarchy tree is displayed, which contains both domains and data products.

Here you will see the top level domains listed. For each domain, if you have at least a data product or sub domain within it. You can click on the hierarchy, arrow next to the domain to expand it, displaying the data products and sub domains of that domain. If the sub domain has sub domains or data products, they can also be expanded to display their contents. Clicking on the domain will also expand the hierarchy along with updating the page with the profile of the domain.

The same occurs with sub-domains while data products will not expand the hierarchy is they are the bottom level, but it will update the page with the details of the data product. In the hierarchy data products will always have a box icon to designate that they are data products while both domains and sub domains allow for a specific icon to be selected at creation to represent them. This visual indication helps users know what our data products and what our domains in the hierarchy. The hierarchy tree also has a searchability we're in.

You can enter the name of a domain or data product in the hierarchy. Tree will filter all listings based upon the value entered in the search. The next search option is specifically for domain. On the top right hand side. There's the domain search. Here. You're able to specifically search for domains, but not data products entering in a value we'll update the listing of the domains, blow it to show those that match when entering a domain value domain listing will show domains that match it.

## 02:00 — Searching specifically for data products

Clicking on one of those results will update the page to the domain profile. The last search option is the product search located towards the middle of the page on the right hand side. Here you can search for specific data products, but not domains. Entering in a value in the search we'll update the data product listing to the left of the display. Showing all data products that match the search. Clicking on a list of data, product we'll load that data product profile page.
