# Glossary: Term Overview Page

## 00:00 — Opening a term and reading the summary

Terms are extremely powerful assets in Atlan allowing for the addition of tons of context around assets, such as metric definitions, along with being a great way to document standards and definitions. To review the bended data associated with any terms. First, you needed to have a gate to the term itself through quick search asset discovery search or through the glossary module. By clicking on the name of the term you would like to view. At the top of the page, the term name shows. If the term has an alias. The Eliya shows instead of the term itself with the name of the term in parentheses below it.

Here you will find hyperlinked to the glossary that determines in, along with a listing of the different categories within that glossary, that the term is contained in. If any.

Terms may have descriptions, certifications, and owners, each of which is listed in the term summary. Below the term summary is the read me section were additional information around the term may be added to give additional context. On the right hand, asset companion, sidebar, additional information regarding the Terminus displayed. ## 02:00 — Sidebar tabs and the linked assets tab

Such as the asset tab, which shows a listing of the different assets that are linked to the term custom metadata properties for the term, and also resources showing any additional links to external documentation around the term. While the assets tab on the asset, companion sidebar will show the linked assets. The easiest way in best way to view all linked assets for a term is by clicking on the linked assets tab on the overview page. Here you were able to search for specific assets linked to the term by utilizing the search bar.

The default sorting is by relevance matching on both title and description in the same way that the asset discovery search works. You can change the sorting of the results on the right hand side, by clicking on the sorting arrow, updating it to display the results either alphabetically or by the last update in Atlan on the matching assets. You're also able to update the details of the linked asset search by clicking on the icon.

## 03:00 — Filtering, sorting, and exporting linked assets

Adding in additional metadata to the results such as tags terms and connections cliquey on the X icon in the search bar We'll clear your search value, enlist all assets again. Additionally, you can utilize the asset filters just below the search bar to limit the results to only specific asset types, allowing for easy discovery of the asset you are looking for. If you're looking to have a list of all assets linked to the term, if you have either the Excel or Google sheets integration in your Atlan instance, set up, clicking on the export icon on the top, right of the linked assets tab gives the option to export all results currently displayed to whichever source you choose.
