## About this demo

**The problem.** Bloated data estates where only a fraction of assets are relevant for business use. Stale, unused, and duplicate assets make it harder for producers and consumers to find what matters, which costs time, adds governance overhead, and lowers productivity.

**What Atlan does.** Data lifecycle management identifies and deprecates unused or duplicate assets using lineage tracking and popularity metrics. Teams can spot assets with no dependencies, low usage, or long inactivity via the UI, APIs, or external tables. Cleanup reduces costs and keeps consumers on trusted, high-value assets.

Reporting dashboards add insight into usage and cost for data estate management decisions.
