This resource provides a set of ready-to-use templates for creating clear, professional stack diagrams that visualize customer data architectures. These diagrams are useful for customer stories, workshops, and presentations, helping teams explain how different technologies and platforms fit together in a modern data stack.
The guide begins with simple steps to use the templates (page 3). Users can choose a layout based on the number of stack components (4–8), duplicate the template slide, edit component names, and insert relevant favicons. Once customized, diagrams can be exported as PNG images for use in decks, documentation, or customer-facing materials.
Included in the resource are pages of favicons (pages 4–6) for common platforms and tools across the data ecosystem. These cover cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), databases and storage (Postgres, MySQL, S3, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks), orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Matillion), transformation frameworks (dbt, Spark), BI and analytics platforms (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Mode, ThoughtSpot), and quality or monitoring solutions (Monte Carlo).
The templates themselves (pages 7–11) provide flexible layouts for stacks with 8, 7, 6, 5, or 4 components. Each version organizes the core layers of a data ecosystem—sources, cloud, databases/storage, warehouses/lakes, EL(T), orchestration, transformation, and analytics—making it easy to illustrate both simple and complex architectures.
By using these templates, teams can standardize how they communicate customer data stacks, ensure visual consistency across materials, and clearly demonstrate how Atlan fits into the broader ecosystem. These templates are a practical, time-saving tool for anyone tasked with explaining or presenting modern data architectures.
