Announcing the Public Availability of the Atlan App Framework

As of August 29th, the Atlan App Framework is publicly available for all customers, partners, and developers. This release makes Atlan’s Metadata Lakehouse fully programmable, allowing teams to build applications, automations, connectors, and AI-native workflows directly on top of Atlan’s context layer.

The framework introduces a consistent way to access metadata, lineage, policies, and collaboration signals, and to use this context as part of an app’s execution logic. This enables developers to extend Atlan without managing separate infrastructure or governance.

What the App Framework Includes #

The App Framework provides core developer infrastructure:

• APIs for interacting with metadata, lineage, governance, and collaboration
• Secure runtime environments to execute app logic at scale
• Developer tooling (SDKs, CLI utilities, and local sandboxes)
• UI extension points to embed new components or workflows inside Atlan
• Reusable components that simplify common app patterns

This allows teams to build:

• Custom metadata apps (including metadata connectors)
• AI-native applications that use metadata in RAG, fine-tuning, or governance workflows
• Integrations that bring Atlan’s governance and quality signals into other tools
• Industry- or domain-specific automations and packaged workflows

The public release is supported by apps developed by 21 inaugural build partners, including Alteryx, ALTR, Anomalo, Ataccama, Bigeye, BigID, Dagster, dbt Labs, Elementary Data, Great Expectations, Immuta, Lovelytics, Monte Carlo, Pantomath, Prophecy, Qualytics, Revefi, Sentra, Soda, Tavro, and Trustlogix.
