Your mission at Atlan 🏡

Own the end user experience for the metadata and marketplace experience, which includes key user journeys like setting up, tracking, modifying, debugging and deleting workflows and the asset profile consumption experience for data teams. It will likely expand to also owning the developer experience for building packages on the Atlan platform.
Understand and move the team’s metrics, such as reducing human errors causing workflow failures, time to setup workflows and increasing the value of metadata to the business and technical users of Atlan.
Understand the domain, users and underlying technology of the metadata marketplace module deeply, and proactively understand the broader product.
Listen in on customer calls and team with user researcher to conduct user interviews to identify areas of improvement and communicate them effectively to the broader team
Collaborate with the Product Manager in understanding end user experience of the tools data teams use in their day to day, and defining and enhancing Atlan’s features with insights from qualitative and quantitative research so the users of those tools feel at home at Atlan as well.
Own the design process end to to end - from concepts, user flows and wireframes to visuals, and shipping of the feature and impact validation - and create high quality deliverables along the way.
Collaborate with the other designers and frontend team to create and maintain reusable design components and tokens, thus contributing to Atlan’s design system, components & asset library.
Spot process inefficiencies and take initiatives to improve the overall product development process at Atlan.
Participate in our design critique sessions and mentor other designers and help them benefit from your expertise and experience
Help improve and evangelize the design culture within Atlan!

What makes you a match for us? 😍

You enjoy learning continuously and can absorb complex domain related concepts quickly and effectively. Databases, querying, lineage etc will soon become the jargon you'll have to speak and understand. You'll stand out if you have a background in Computer Science or a fair understanding of the data ecosystem
You bring a few years of experience designing consumer grade enterprise products or complex web applications. Experience working in the data domain or SaaS marketplaces will be an added bonus.
You’ve got a portfolio of work that shows us your product design skills from concept to visual design execution
You believe in iterating rapidly and don't shy away from taking creative approach to problem solving
You have strong critical thinking skills - i.e. you demonstrate the ability to deconstruct a complex problem into its base components and figure out the most effective way to solve it
You're well versed with standard experience design tools and have experience making all kinds of visual design deliverables like icons, product illustrations, micro animations, etc. apart from standard wireframes and UI designs.
You can communicate effectively and work autonomously - it will be much needed in a remote setup!
